The original valves are leaky right from the factory, causing a loss of power, which is even more noticeable in vehicles with increased performance due to the higher boost pressure.
By installing the GFB DV+/VTA, this “hole” in the charge air system is closed, noticeably improving throttle response and boost pressure maintenance.
Additionally, the turbocharger is protected, as it no longer has to work “against” the leak in the charge air system.
Simultaneously, the familiar “whoosh” sound during gear changes is generated by venting excess charge air into the atmosphere.
Other manufacturers offer a simple spacer to create the blow-off sound, which is also installed below the original valve.
While this does produce a blow-off sound, it doesn’t solve the problem of the leaking original valve.
With the GFB VTA valve, however, both problems are eliminated at once!
The GFB T9480 is compatible with all 2.0 EA888 evo4 and 3.0 TFSI engines.
