It represents a crucial component, because only when the entire intake path to the turbocharger is optimized can the full potential of the turbocharger and engine be realized.
The kit consists of a silicone upgrade intake hose with the maximum possible inner diameter (89mm/3.5″ at the air filter) and a genuine carbon fiber box with a larger volume and significantly improved airflow compared to the stock intake.
This is also demonstrated by our flow bench measurements, which show an impressive increase of +58% and +70% , respectively .
Even for large-scale supercharger modifications, there is more than enough capacity available. The filter element is an oiled polymer foam filter, specially developed by us for this system, which features an 89mm/3.5″ connection.
Optionally, you can combine this intake with our HF-Series turbo inlet, which then also eliminates the last reduction/narrowing at the turbocharger inlet (only required for the 245hp engines such as in the GTI; the 300/320hp engines such as in the Clubsport or R have a different inlet due to the different turbocharger, which cannot be improved and already works optimally; we have extensively tested this with 9 trials/prototypes on the flow bench).
To achieve a particularly clean look and avoid any unnecessary bulging in the airbox, we routed the water hose underneath it.
We also use our SF-Hoses silicone sealant here. The hose is included in the delivery.
