Oil catchtank kit from BAR-TEK® including PCV fix, suitable for all 1.8 and 2.0 TSI engines of the third generation, as installed e. g. in the Golf 7 GTI, Audi A3, TT and many more.
Ultimate catchtank kit for your TSI with TÜV! No registration required!
This is the best solution to reduce coking of the intake valves to a minimum. Intake valves that are too heavily coked can lead to a total engine failure due to valve breakage!
Further disadvantages of coking:
- Rough idle
- Loss of power
The coking on the intake valves and in the intake port is caused by longlife oils, low-quality fuel and short-distance operation. In general, coking cannot be prevented, only delayed. Therefore, we recommend installing our oil catchtank kit.
The kit consists of:
- PCV adapter plate with engine ventilation
- Oil catchtank, dimensions: 140 mm x 80 mm now also with dipstick!
- Bracket for the catchtank
- 1x 1 meter Dash 10 lines with nylon braid (particularly oil-resistant)
- 2x 45° Dash 10 fitting
- 2x straight Dash 10 fitting
- 2x NPT to Dash 10 adapter 90° for the catchtank
- 1x catchtank mounting kit (tank ventilation, banjo, small parts)
It’s best to also order a new PCV gasket with your order.
Some vehicles have a tank ventilation valve with a larger hose diameter. In this case, a hose reducer must be installed.
For vehicles where the washer fluid reservoir is mounted on the right-hand side, the filler neck is also required. This replaces the upper part of the water reservoir. This is particularly common with the first Golf R and Audi S3 models. You will find this under accesories.
Note on use in cold climates:
The catchtank is designed only for warm climates. In winter, at temperatures below 0° C, the condensation that forms in the system can freeze. This would cause an increased crankcase pressure, which can lead to engine damage. We recommend checking the catchtank system more frequently in winter or removing it completely for the cold season.
