BAR-TEK ® proved: Garrett Stage 1 Plug & Play turbocharger for EA888 evo4 engines
Stage 1 turbocharger from Garrett for real 450 hp (333 kW) – for all Golf 8 GTI, Audi TT, Skoda Octavia RS, Seat Leon 2.0 TSI as well as for the most other 2.0-TFSI engines.
The PowerMax™ turbocharger for the 2.0 EA888 Evo4 engine platform of the VAG models was designed to provide you with a professional performance increase while at the same time being compatible with the OEM components. In other words: With this turbocharger, maximum driving pleasure and easy installation are possible. A real 450 hp (333 kW) Power is no problem.
As an authorised distributor and turbo specialist with many years of expertise,we had the honour of testing the Garrett PowerMax™ turbocharger during development. And we were impressed by the performance in our Golf 8 GTI !

Tested on behalf of Garrett and awarded with fabulous response behaviour
Made for all EA888 GEN 4 engines and maximum driving pleasure: We were commissioned by Garrett to test the new PowerMax™ turbocharger and put it through its paces in the VW Golf 8 GTI. The result on our test bench was clear: the turbo not only makes 450 hp possible without any problems, its response behaviour is also enormous.
The turbo owes its mega power curve in part to the aerodynamics of the Gen II GTX compressor housing. The aero-optimised compressor wheel ensures an incredible compressor throughput of +32 % compared to the standard parts and even +50 % turbine flow! You can’t feel these values!
The electric servomotor in the turbo controls the movement of the guide vanes precisely and reliably and thus regulates the exhaust gas flow. This allows the boost pressure to be changed and optimally adapted to all speed ranges . In this way, you can access the power even at low engine speeds . This is what we mean when we talk about fabulous response behaviour.
Materials for extreme performance
Like all PowerMax™ turbocharger from Garrett, was designed for extreme performance, while it can be easily installed into the existing OEM system via plug & play. Only the best and most resistant materials are used here. These include the reverse-rotating Garrett GT2260S fuselage assembly, the new generation compressor housing with preparation for mounting an optional speed sensor and the milled compressor wheels with improved aerodynamics and increased pressure ratio.
The turbine wheel made of Mar-M alloy can withstand exhaust gas temperatures of 1050 °C. The Gen II GTX compressor wheel is forged and milled from special high-strength aluminium alloys. This gives the turbocharger a particularly high level of efficiency, while the optimised wheel geometry reduces pulsation noise . The stainless steel twin-scroll turbine housing is also robust and can withstand 1050 °C heat.
Simple installation for all EA888 GEN 4 motors
The Garrett PowerMax™ is a direct-fit bolt-on turbocharger kit with all connections for the 2.0 EA888 Evo4 engine. It is simply installed via plug & play instead of the standard supercharger. On the exhaust side, there is a connection to the original Y-pipe, so all downpipes fit to the outlet. The connection for the water cooling is made via two connections on the side .

Operation of the turbocharger above this speed is at your own risk and can lead to failure of the turbocharger and thus to the cancellation of the warranty. To prevent overspeeding we recommend the use of tachometer 781328-0003 (kit with speed sensor and indicator) or 781328-0004 (speed sensor).
