This intercooler for the VW Golf 8 GTI is a highlight from the HF-Series range.
The high-quality bar-and-plate mesh boasts excellent cooling properties to deliver top performance even under adverse conditions, while also being extremely robust.
It is characterized by its high resistance and does not heat up as much as comparable meshes from other manufacturers.
In our tests, we achieved an intake air temperature of only 23 degrees Celsius with an outside air temperature of 17.5 degrees Celsius.
Even with our large Stage 2 upgrade to 457 hp in, for example, the Golf 8 Clubsport/R, we only reached a maximum of 9.5 degrees Celsius above the outside air temperature under full load.
At the same time, the entire system is also designed for optimal flow.
This means that pressure loss is minimal and the entire charge air path has been developed with CAD flow analysis for improved aerodynamics. This also includes the intercooler housings, which are made of high-strength cast aluminum and equipped with our WAY FIN TECHNOLOGY .
This is an additional internal guide fin that guarantees even and optimal filling of the entire core.
The inlet and outlet diameters of the cooler have also been increased to 70mm, and in combination with the included reinforced silicone hoses from SF-Hoses, provide the perfect preparation for a performance increase.
This radiator has a parts certificate according to §19.3 and is tested in this certificate along with all other components available from us, provided they have a certificate.

What exactly does an upgraded intercooler offer?
To quantify the precise performance gains of an intercooler, many unknown factors must be considered, such as factory performance variations, other hardware modifications, and the software used for the measurement.
This varies from vehicle to vehicle. As a rule of thumb for tuned engines, you can expect gains of up to 5% to 10%.
But what’s at least as important: regardless of whether your engine is already optimized or you intend to keep its software stock, you’ll prevent power loss, especially at high ambient temperatures, or even the activation of the temperature protection circuits built into many engine control units (ECUs), ensuring you can always rely on your engine’s full potential.
